Linkki also hosts a mass of materials and game ideas for use by teachers and Scratchers alike. Most of these are in Finnish, but we’re working on getting materials translated as well.

PROGRAMMING WITHOUT ACCESS TO SCRATCH ONLINE

The Scratch website can occasionally be out of reach due to  updates, network connections faults or other reasons. You can prepare for this beforehand by installing the Scratch offline version.

Another option is to try Snap!, which is a similar development environment built on a different web technology.

LINKKI

Linkki science lab is a unit for early education in computer science and programming skills. The lab provides after school activities on programming for youth in age groups 9-16 years, and supports teachers with continuing education in the field.

Linkki is a part of the LumA Science Education Centre at the University of Helsinki, and is hosted by the University of Helsinki Department of Computer Science. Linkki’s website can be found at linkki.cs.helsinki.fi.
